well, its no use lying. i will be honest. i dont update this blog as much as i do my other one. i guess its easier cos its linked with my email and alot of my friends are connected to it as well. so if you wanna hear whats going on in my life more often, click on my link to 'my other blog'. it is quite random.
also if you wanna check out my friends blog (she is really awesome) who has some very interesting christian issues (eg, jesus loves pornstars) and other randomness. her link is

well, thats all for now. i will try to update more often.... (but i'm not making any promises)

someone sent this to me in an email (maccabees, 29.06.06)
I AM THANKFUL:

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS IN THE RECLINER
BEING A CHAIR POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT EVERYTHING
BECAUSE IT MEANS HE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

SEND THIS TO SOMEONE YOU CARE ABOUT. I JUST DID.

Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

It's all over... :( (maccabees, 21.06.06)
well, the show went REALLY WELL! it was SO much fun to do and everyone was really great. my parents came up and watched me on friday night and that was THE BEST!! but i have to admit saturday night was the funnest cos it was a full house and we even had to bring in more chairs to fit the crowd in and everyone was hyped up cos it was the last night so it was heaps of fun. oh and also my boyfriend came that night. my friend's boyfriend came to ALL the shows and bought her flowers on the last night which he ran onto stage and gave to her when we came out to bow, which i thought was very sweet. i dont think my boyfriend appreciated that cos he didnt do anything of the sorts... LOL, but i dont mind really. i am happy he came and saw me!
well i am going home in less then a week and i am so happy about that. yay.

there's something different about you (maccabees, 01.06.06)
this week we had a VERY challenging and thought provoking new testament class. dont get me wrong, its always like that (woah almost got myself into a trap there...lucky Marianna doesnt read this...lol) anyway, i wanted to share with you some things my lecturer shared with us. and hopefully hannah will benefit from this too, since she was...er...absent from the class.

-"Do not be afraid of those who kill you. they can only kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in Hell." Matthew 10:28
-Jesus didn't come to bring Peace, but a SWORD. this doesn't mean to physically fight, as in wars and violence, but to fight against EVIL. Yes Jesus did bring Peace, he is the Prince of Peace afterall, but he brought it to find peace within US, not in the world.
-don't ever say that you are not worthy. Jesus was willing to die for YOU! that makes you worthy.
-Jesus did miracles to fight against Satan. he never used his powers to show off and say "hey check this out...look what i can do." but used his powers for a purpose - to show the Kingdom of God.
-a christian is a christian because they really want to be one, not because they want people to think how cool they are. and because of this, we need to SHOW that we are christians in the way we behave. we need to be different from the ungodly.
-Christians should use different words to the words the world uses (this includes swear words and catch phrases)
-dont be a mirror, but an EDGE
-God wants to partner with us. whatever we are doing, he wants to be there with us, just as he hopes we are there with him.
-the Kingdom of God has already come, but it is not fully consumated. the four aspects of the kingdom of god are; righteousness, peace, health and the Holy Spirit. we have all these today, but not to it's full extent. one day we will.
-WE HAVE TO LIVE NOW LIKE WE WILL LIVE FOREVER
-demons are present in people, especially if we open ourselves up to them. the devil wants to destroy anyone who is devoted to God. we need to FIGHT.
-NOTHING has greater value to you then the Kingdom of God.
-dont look back on the past with longing. dont long for the things you have left behind.
-we are all drug addicts in a way - addicted to doing our own will. we must fight past that and do God's will. Jesus fought past it. he struggled with what he wanted to do in the garden of Gethsemane, but refused to do his own will and freely chose to do God's (which was to die).
-the sure signs of the presence of God in someone's life is JOY. even if they weep, they can have joy in their hearts because they know God.
-God wants to rejoice with us as well as IN us.
-Peter, the rock which supposedly stands strong through everything, fell heavily when he denied Christ. but he learned a great lesson from his failure and redeemed himself.
-we need to be able to laugh at ourselves occasionally. laughter is meant to be healing.
-by using swear words, toilet jokes and sexual jokes, we are poisoning the water of laughter. we must be careful with what we watch, listen to, and laugh at.

Like i said, it was a very valuable lesson and i hope everyone got something out of it like i did. i agree that we as Christians need to watch how they behave to not become like the world. we must live in the world but not become like the world. we must set ourselves apart from it, so we show God's love and grace and people will say, "Hey there's something different about you, and i want to know what that is."

Under Milk Wood and other stuff (maccabees, 27.05.06)
well, its almost at that time again. we have our next performance coming up and its called Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas. if anyone is in Sydney, please come!!!! its on the 15th, 16th and 17th of June at Wesley Institute. if you want further details please dont hesitate to ask.
the play centres around a small fishing village in wales. its great cos we get to learn the welsh accent. i have had good comments about the accent form my voice teacher saying i am doing good, which is very encouraging. especially when i didnt get good comments about my aussie accent in my last play from the director. (what the??)
but hey rehearsals are going well, we still have alot of work to do, but its coming along well and i am really enjoying it. we have had this cool guy come in to teach us this movement technique invented by Chekov....really interesting and amazing stuff.
my parents are flying up to see me in the play which is so exciting. it will be the first time they've seen me perform since coming to this uni, so that puts alot of pressure on me....no joking. i know they are proud of me and that makes me all the more motivated to do a good job.
well, in other news, its my one year anniversary in 2 days, on the 29th of may. i am SO MAJORLY excited. we're not doing anything too special cos we dont have much money, but i am gonna cook him dinner, so hopefully that will work ot well. :) lol
in more news, i get to go home to melbourne for 4 weeks after exams, which is after the performance and i am really looking forward to it. while last year i got to go home for a weekend in between holidays, i havent been able to this year. its the longest time i have been away form my parents and it feels really odd. but i get to speak to them over the phone so that is good.
well, i hope everyone is well and may god bless you all and keep you safe xox

YAY was right! (maccabees, 09.05.06)
yes, i was the Old Geezer, as yay put it. i was the character of Reverend Mills. he was a grumpy old man who didnt like Jesus and plotted to kill him. i got to wear that amazing hair (that was supposed to be a comb over but didnt wuite get there) and the beard and moustache was so much fun. although the stuff u stuck it on with burned like crazy ALL day. and it was hard to open your mouth fully cos the glue was sticking it in place, so when i had lunch i couldnt eat properly....quite funny. also i got food stuck in my beard, so i know how it feels for all you bearded blokes out there. it was the best time and i will forever look back on it with fond memories. thanx guys for putting up with my cheekiness and making u guess who i was!!! he he he

Easter (maccabees, 21.04.06)
On Good Friday we had our HUGE performance called "This Bloke Called Jesus" it went really well. everyone had a fun time and the audience loved it. the wesley theatre was full and i hope we managed to touch the hearts of many people. it was a fantastic experience, and one i would love to do again :) even though it was very stressful. and also my younger sister came up to visit me and saw the play. that was really good. i enjoyed having her here SO much.... i got to show her around the city and we went shopping and had alot of fun.
one thing that i really learned this easter is that Jesus really was a human being, like all of us. a speaker at my uni the other week began to tell us a story of a child who kept asking the priests questions and it only til half way through that you realised he was talkign about jesus.... and it really made me see that Jesus, the Son of God was a human, he came as a innocent defensless baby, grew up as a child, went rhough those crazy teenage years and came to know his will in life....that he must die to save us. its really made me see Jesus in a new perspective.
hope everyone had a great easter xox

comparing views (maccabees, 05.04.06)
last year i stayed at student housing, which was actually an old nursing home, and i had a tiny room on the first story. my one window which took up most of one wall looked out over the roof tops of houses, with trees and greenery that was nice, especially when i come from a more country town compared to Sydney. anyway, at the very back of the group of trees, there was a jacaranda tree and behind that i could see the steeple of a church. it had a cross on it, and when the purple jacaranda flowers were open it was the most beautiful sight. i loved looking out that window and seeing the cross raised above all else. it made me smile and whenever i was doing my homework and looked out the window, i saw it... like God was always watching me.
this year, i have moved into a small unit on the first floor. the view out of my long thin window is the busy road below. cars are always zooming past, with loud honking of horns and screeching of breaks. i can also see the flats/apartments across the road and strangers walking past. its quite a different view, and i do miss the old one.
BUT.... last year, as we drove to Uni, there was this spot in the road where i could see the tops of the tall buildings of the city. it wasnt much, but i always looked out for it and it made me smile. i like it that we are close to the city. but this year, as i drive to Uni (well catch a ride with someone to Uni) we go over the Gladesville bridge, and anyone who has been over that will know hat it has the most AWESOME view of the city. the entire city can be seen including the harbour bridge. it is so beautiful. i get to see that every morning, sometimes with morning mist making it look mysterious and adventurous. and also, on monday nights when i finish class late, i turn around to loko at the city with the lights shining through the darkness. i think it is really beautiful, and although i would prefer to live in the country any day, i am really enjoying this experience and smile at the beauty within it.

busy as bees (maccabees, 25.03.06)
well, uni has been terrifyingly busy. gosh it is very stressful and weeks are going by so quickly i feel like i have no time to do anything. things especially are getting stressful with the easter play. its only 3 weeks away now, and our director says we are no way near the level we should be by this time. its very tough. one thing i love is that we pray, all together, before EVERY rehearsal. we pray for the health and safety of everyone, as well as praying for God to prepare the hearts of the audience to change them with our message. its really great and i believe it brings us all together and helps keep us strong. one miracle has already occured. one of the boys, who is playing jesus would u know it, has recently become a christian and his dad, who he doesnt live with, is flying down to watch him in the play. his dad isnt a christian, so i am sure that he is very nervous about his dad coming to see him act, especially when he's jesus.... the big man himself. i reckon that is totally awesome and i really pray that his dad is open and prepared to enjoy his sons work and the new life he has made for himself....
well, thats enough babbling for now. catch ya's later

so proud (maccabees, 17.03.06)
i was on the net chatting to my lil sis the other day and she sent me some songs. they are her own songs, that she wrote herself, and recorded onto the computer with her own instruments and stuff. and i listened to them, and it felt like she was right there in the same room as me singing to me. it was so awesome, and brought a tear to my eye! she is so beautiful and now i play those songs over and over, cos i miss her and miss being able to see her grow into the wonderful woman she is becoming. :) may god bless you my angel and grant you your hearts desires.
